Welcome
Welcome to this website. Dr. Ruta Valaitis is the inaugural holder of the Dorothy C. Hall Chair in Primary Health Care Nursing.
Established in 2007, this endowed chair was named in honour of Dorothy C. Hall who was a pioneer in primary health care nursing and advanced practice nursing. She was also an esteemed international nursing consultant with the World Health Organization who impacted nursing in many countries such as Afghanistan, Denmark, India, Thailand, and Sri Lanka.
The $1-million research chair was created in 2002. We gratefully acknowledge a number of generous donations to the School of Nursing which was matched by the University. Donations include a bequest from the late Henrietta Alderson, who was one of three founding faculty members of the McMaster’s undergraduate nursing program, as well as contributions from other nursing faculty donors, including Dr. Dorothy C. Hall.
