The purpose of this second phase of the study was to identify current practice activities of CHNs across all Canadian Provinces and Territories and to measure their continuing education needs in relation to the CCHN Standards.

The results of this pan-Canadian survey will inform the Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC), the Community Health Nurses Association of Canada, community health nursing employers, and others who are involved in continuing education program development in order to build capacity in the community health nursing workforce in Canada. The 2009 report outlines methods, results, the development of an online version of the survey, implications for practice and research, limitations and conclusions.
